Rabbits Rules....

RABBITS COMPETITION 2025

1. All the normal rules of golf including local rules apply to the RABBITS competitions.

2. Competitions are played from GREEN MARKERS - over the Front 9 (unless otherwise indicated).

3. ELIGIBILITY: Those members whose Handicap Index is 15.0 or higher on the date of the competition are eligible to play in the Rabbits.  This is approximately equivalent to a green marker handicap of 17 on the old CONGU system.

Former members whose index is 15.0 or higher may qualify during the calendar year.

4. RABBITS HANDICAPS: On a player's first Rabbits competition in 2025 his Rabbits handicap is the same as his current WHS handicap for the Green Marker 9 hole course - i.e. (Handicap Index)X(Slope Rating) / (113).
NOTE: The club provides a table for the Green Tees so that you do not have to do the handicap calculation yourself.
On each subsequent Rabbits competition played the Rabbits Handicap must be adjusted as in 5 below AND must also be adjusted to take account of changes in WHS handicap index.
Golfers play using the 9-hole scorecard. Please take the time to ensure that you put the correct handicap and scores on your card.  Failure to do this is very inconsiderate to the volunteers who do the results.

5. HANDICAP ADJUSTMENTS AND RABBITS G.O.Y. POINTS: Adjustments to Handicap and Rabbits Golfer Of the Year points are calculated as follows:
PLACE IN FRIDAY COMPETITION RABBITS GOY PTS. 9-Hole Green Card HANDICAP ADJUSTMENT

The MAXIMUM Rabbits Handicap obtainable is 3 above your 9-hole green  card handicap.

6. Players now (where conditions permit) officially will submit their results into the computer so that they will get the appropriate handicap adjustments for the 9-holes.  This will mainly benefit members who don't play in other competitions.  The computer scores will be based on your official handicap and is separate to the scoring for the Rabbits competition.

7. As it is now possible for men to get a handicap up to 54, the extra shots for older players have been discontinued.
